What are chemical peels?

Chemical peels use chemical solutions to enhance and smooth facial skin texture by removing those outer layers damaged by pathological events such as scarring, acne, precancerous lesions, hyperpigmentation or ageing process (wrinkles, loss of elasticity, etc...).

How many types of chemical peels are there?

Depending on the epidermis layer on which they act, chemical peels are divided into:

Light chemical peels: such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, etc..., Can remove superficial wrinkles of face and hands, restore elasticity, remove small skin blemishes and improve acne scars.

Medium chemical peels: can remove shallow wrinkles, skin blemishes and small keratosis.

Deep chemical peels: phenol derivatives, used in various concentrations, can remove deep wrinkles, renew the skin, remove significant stains, precancerous lesions and improve acne scars. Since treatments are severe, patients need a recovery period more or less long (3 to 10 days).
